SOMSATO

"Looking to the future with determination and innovation."

Above all, it is a family adventure that has been going on for four generations.
When Marcel DRUMEL came out of the war in 1945, he set about using his hammer and chisel (in the truest sense of the word!) to create his own small business to meet the needs of the various local blacksmiths and bolt makers, under the name DRUMEL.
Subsequently, his two sons took up the challenge and took over the business, which they joined in the 1960s.
Family history and generational continuity

Evolution and specialisation
The company has evolved over the generations, from making tools for local blacksmiths to specialising in precision machining and small production runs. In 1971 and 1972, SOM and SATO were created, with complementary activities such as general mechanics, heat treatment, custom sawing and steel sales.
In 2014, the family merged the two companies under the name SOMSATO.
Investments for the future
SOMSATO has recently invested in new equipment, including a 3-axis Vertical machining centre, computer-aided design software and a large-scale NC milling machine. These investments are aimed at improving machining capacity, boosting competitiveness and capturing new markets.
